I don’t “DO” martial arts, I am a martial artist.
I don’t just teach about warriorhood and warrior
philosophy – I AM a warrior. It is an integral
part of who I am and what makes me, ME.
The martial arts/warrior mentality is seared
deep within my spirit. I could no more walk
away from the way of the warrior than
I could walk away from my own body.
It is an integral part of my being.

How can one walk away from what he or she truly is? It is not possible. You could try to ignore what you are or you could allow others to talk you into not being your real self, but your true essence is always there, no matter what you do or where you go. Your true essence follows you like your shadow, always waiting to be cultivated and blossom.
When you discover who you and what you really are, you have discovered your true path. You have discovered your reason for being. Don’t ever allow anyone or anything in this lifetime to talk you out of being who you are meant to be. You should work to perfect who you are, instead of working to become someone or something that you aren’t. You were not put on this planet to be a carbon copy of someone else.
It is much better to be authentically yourself, than artificially try to become some one else. LIVE YOUR LIFE, YOUR WAY. Never imitate someone else’s life in an attempt to become something that you were never meant to be. Just as an authentic piece of artwork is worth much more than a copy, being yourself is infinitely more valuable than being a copy of someone else.
You were born with the free will to become who you want to be and to be the best YOU that you can be. Don’t trade a one-of-a-kind masterpiece for a cheap copy! Find out what sets your soul on fire, what lights up your spirit, and follow that path to the end. That is your calling in life, but it is up to you to be willing to travel down that road. Find the path that captures your heart and follow it to the end. That is the journey that you should be on.
