For it is easy to criticize and break down the spirit of others, but to know yourself may take a lifetime. Bruce Lee
It is easy for those who do nothing to criticize those who are actively working to create something or working to do something with their life. These critics are usually those who do very little, and accomplish even less, but they are always willing to criticize and break down what others work hard to create.
It is easy for someone to take a sledge hammer and break down a beautiful wall, but it takes days to build it, paint it, and make it look nice. Those who criticize you are exactly like those who come into your home and try to break down the walls that you just built. You have worked hard to build and paint them, they have done nothing. Then they want to walk in and criticize everything that you worked on, while they neither helped build it, nor have the knowledge to build one themselves. All they know how to do is tear one apart or gripe about how others built one.
Respond or ignore these types of people, as needed. But don’t let them sidetrack you. They are not worth your time or energy. Continue to direct your focus on yourself and your own improvement. Don’t allow the complainers and haters to break your spirit. Rise above them!
You are here on this earth to work towards perfection in everything that you do, not to change course every time someone else decides that he or she doesn’t like what you are doing. Let others do as they will; you just remain focused on your own goals. After all, you should be too busy working to achieve your objectives and working to improve yourself in every way, to waste time listening to those who have nothing better to do than to criticize what you do, while at the same time doing nothing themselves. Ignore them and move on!
