The greatest happiness is tranquility of mind. Sakya Pandit
The greatest happiness is tranquility of mind.
Sakya Pandit

Happiness is available to everyone, no matter what their circumstances may be, but the vast majority of people do not choose to be happy. They have a wrong idea about happiness; they think that happiness comes from something external. And no matter how much they search for it, they never seem to find it. This is because nothing external can bring you lasting happiness.

It is like the woman who has misplaced her car keys and searches the entire house for hours looking for them, only to find out that she had them in her pocket the whole time. When you search elsewhere for something that only exists within you, you will never find it. You have to come to the realization that happiness is only found within your own mind and spirit.

Your happiness has resided inside you all along, whether you have been happy, sad, or upset. You may have spent years unsuccessfully searching everywhere for happiness. You may have read dozens of books on the philosophy of life, studied several religions, and tried everything that the world has to offer in your quest for happiness. But until you understand that only you hold the key to your happiness, your search will be in vain.
