Complaining about how things are changes
nothing and never makes anything better.

When you complain, you are actually adding stress to your life and weakening your spirit. Research has shown that complaining actually shrinks the area of your brain that is critical to problem solving. This means that when you complain, you are only making things worse for yourself.

Accepting things as they are is the first step to overcoming any negative side effects of what is happening. Acceptance is the key to successfully dealing with whatever is happening in your life or in the world around you. Refusing to accept how things are keeps you stuck in a fantasy world of denial.

Some people seem to believe that if they ignore a negative situation, it will somehow magically go away. That is a refusal to accept reality. Ignoring reality doesn’t change what is happening. It only robs you of the chance to either use what is happening to your advantage or to develop a sound strategy to offset the negative consequences of what is happening. Musashi knew this.
