Gold Dragon
Fear is a reaction;
courage is a response.

Bohdi Sanders

Fear is a reaction to a person, place, thing, or situation, and fear is the source of all worry. Besides the fear of falling from high places and being startled by loud noises, all other fears have been learned or conditioned in us over the years.

No one is born with a fear of being assaulted, of offending the boss, or of snakes. Those are all learned from different experiences. Many people have spent so much of their lives worrying about one thing or another or allowing phobias to control them that fear has become a normal part of life for them.

Courage, on the other hand, is a decision. No matter what you are facing in your life, you can always decide to be courageous instead of fearful. Fear is a reaction; courage is a response. When you react, you are rarely in control. But when you respond, you have made a conscious decision about what you will do next. Reacting is your mind on autopilot; responding is being fully aware, thoughtful, and rational.
