your shield and fight!

Warriors fight many battles in life, and most are not of the physical variety. Of course, we can take care of the physical battles that come our way, when we are forced to use our martial arts skills. That should be a given. But there are many other challenges in life, besides those that require us to use our self-defense skills.

We each have our own challenges in life. These challenges come to us in many different forms. Some people, who would never back down from a physical attack, may be tempted to “accept his fate” and give up when it comes to some other kinds of challenges in life, whether they are financial, health issues, or whatever they may be.

As warriors, we should live a balanced life. If we cannot take our martial arts training and transfer it to all areas of our lives, then it is of little value to us most of the time. A good martial arts teacher will not simply teach how to kick, punch and fight, but how to life a successful life, how to meet all of life’s challenges and come out victorious.

Real martial arts are about life. Yes, you will learn how to fight and how to defend yourself with various techniques, but you will also learn how to approach life with a different attitude and how to live. You will learn how to handle whatever comes your way. For over two decades, I have called this the Warrior Lifestyle. That is what I teach and it encompasses all parts of life, not just self-defense.

The warrior lifestyle is a way of life. It is about living your life, your way, and overcoming every obstacle that life throws at you. I can’t tell you how many letters and emails that I have received which tell me that my books are helpful to everyone and that my teachings apply to everyone, not just martial artists. It is meant to be that way!

True wisdom is universal. It doesn’t merely apply to one group or another; it applies to everyone who is willing to use it in their life. That is why I call my teachings the warrior lifestyle. Combined, they comprise a lifestyle which will help you in every area of your life – spiritual, mental, and physical.

The warrior lifestyle teaches you to live by a code and to set high standards for yourself. It teaches you to do what’s right, no matter what anyone else is doing. It teaches you to stand up for those who need your help, to stand up to the bullies of this world, and to overcome every challenge. It is for everyone who is ready to live a better life, to live the kind of life that you were created to live.

You are a warrior! No matter what the challenge may be, warriors don’t give up and they don’t back down. Whatever you are facing in your life today, pick up your sword, your shield, and FIGHT! Don’t be complacent about the challenges that come your way. Don’t accept bad health, bad news, etc. as you fate. Stand up and say, “NO! You messed with the wrong guy. You have no idea who I am. I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED!”

Refuse to lie down and take whatever life throws at you. Stand up and fight for what you want in life! Life tests you to see how you will respond. When life test you, stand up and grab your challenge by the throat and say, “Not today, pal!” Warrior up and fight for what you want out of life. NEVER GIVE UP – NEVER SURRENDER!
