Highly evolved people have
their own conscience as pure law.
True warriors have no need for laws. They live by a strict code of honor which dictates right and wrong. Their conscience serves as their law, and it is more just and more honorable than any laws made by self-serving politicians. True warriors ARE the highly evolved people of which Lao Tzu referred to in the Tao Te Ching.
Notice that I said, “true warriors.” The true warrior is the person who has refined his or her spirit and mind to truly understand right and wrong. But this is only a part of being a true warrior. You can understand something without actually living it. True warriors are highly evolved and truly live by what they know is right.
Laws are made of inferior men and women, those who must be controlled because they cannot be counted on to do what is right without being motivated by penalty of the law. The truly evolved warrior’s conscience is pure law for him (or her). It trumps man-made laws. The warrior does what is right, regardless of whether or not it is considered legal.
Some things which are considered legal, according to the laws of man, are restricted by the warrior’s honor, and other things, which may be considered illegal according to the law, the warrior may not have a problem with at all. He (or she) lives by a purer law – the law of right and wrong.
The warrior’s actions are not bound by man-made laws, but rather by what is right. If what is right is in conflict with laws made by corrupt politicians, then the politician’s law is given little to no consideration at all.
Man-made laws are made for one of three reasons:
- To control inferior men and women who do not live by honor and integrity
- To further political agendas
- To enable governments to have great control over the population
Many people in today’s world consider the law as a sacred thing. They neglect to consider who makes the laws by which we live or the reasons behind those laws. The only thing that enters their minds is that this is “the law,” so I must follow it or be punished in some way.
The vast majority of people around the world have very little respect for politicians, yet consider the laws that politicians make, as somehow being sacred, even though they know that the vast majority of our politicians are dishonest, self-serving and crooked. People seem to forget where man-made laws come from.
Don’t get me wrong; I am not an advocate for anarchy. Our world definitely needs laws. Not everyone is highly evolved. Not everyone lives by a strict code of honor or does their best to do what is right, no matter what the situation may be. This is why we have laws to start with. Inferior people cannot be counted on to do what is right, so they must be coerced to live as they should.
The warrior doesn’t need to be coerced to live a life of honor or integrity. He does what is right, simply because it is right, not because there may be some penalty if he doesn’t comply. Warriors live by their own code of right and wrong, independent from man-made laws.
This is not to say that warriors do not follow the law, at least the majority of the time; they do. What I am saying is that warriors would live the same way whether there were any laws to guide them or not. They do not need a shepherd to tell them what is right or wrong. Sheep need a shepherd; warriors do not.
Warriors follow the law of the land as long as those laws do not infringe on their duty to do what is right. They don’t intentionally go out and break man-made laws just to be contrary, but if they have to make a choice between what is legal or what is right, what is right will always prevail.
The true warrior will never put the law above what is right, even if it means that he has to deal with some personal consequences connected to breaking the law. This may seem confusing to those who do not live their lives by the way of the warrior, but much of the warrior lifestyle is hard for others to comprehend. Warriors are a rare breed, and their honor is above the law of the land.
