Training gives us another outlet for suppressed
energies caused by stress and thus tones the spirit,
just as exercise conditions the body.
Training is a great way to deal with the stress of daily life. Kata, sparring, bag work, running, and lifting weights, all help fight the adverse affects of mental stress. And, they have the added advantage of increasing your skills and conditioning your body, all at the same time. Not only does training help reduce stress, but stress can also help super-charge your workout.
Next time you are feeling that throbbing feeling of mental stress taking hold of your mind, stop what you are doing and train. Take it out on the bag or the weights, not your colleagues, friends, or family. Stress is something that we all have to deal with, but successful people know how to stop stress from interfering with their life. They control and release stress, instead of allowing stress to control and injure them. Dr. Bohdi Sanders ~ author of the award-winning Warrior Wisdom Series – The Warrior Wisdom Series.
